Mission Statement
The Verna and Marrs McLean Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is devoted to research and training in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Our faculty direct biomedical research laboratories applying the latest techniques in biochemistry, molecular genetics, cell biology, structural biology, functional genomics and proteomics, and developmental biology. We provide rigorous research-based training for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, and participate actively in teaching advanced classes to graduate students and medical students.
